Day 13 – Thursday 19. April 2022

We started the day with prototyping ideas and performance enactment / bodystorming. This contained a excursive journey where we start to think about our experiences.

– Investigation > Literature, Background culture, related work

– Play > Prototyping, Bodystorming, trying and failing, unconventional ways

– everyday > observing, community, people nature, content life

– tensions

– enactment > before / after

– dissemination > video documentation

After talking about the process, we made an exercise where we switched groups to get feedback and inputs from a person who isn't in our group.

Therefore Lars joined Lyv and Tanja.

They talked about communication in general and the behavior of passengers in public transportation. The discussion went further about how to bring the topic of encourage people to tell their stories and to start actions when someone gets harassed.

Then they started talking about solutions and actions for the persons that gets assulted.

They then presented an enactment how people behave in public transportation, when someone wants to start a conversation.

It was really interesting how in Swiss culture you get looked at weirdly if you wanna have a conversation in public transportation. Cuz the most people prefer to look at their mobile phone and listen to music then to have a real conversation with a stranger.

The thought behind the enactment was to encourage people to help. Make civil courage better, so that possible perpetrators are deterred.

After there was another swap where Audrey and Sonja got some inputs from Lea and Mo.

In their discussion they talked about how could a possible solution be to get people to react. They discovered the idea to implement a panic button. But by creating an app, people that downloaded are needed. So they came up with the idea to implement a panic button in the already existing sbb app.

This exercise was a lot of fun and helped us to look at our project from an different angle. It was interesting to get ideas and inputs from people who look at it from the outside.

Afterwards we got inputs from Joëlle

– people like to stay in their bubble

– try to find out where is the connection easier, ex. as a foreigner

– how it starts a conversation quicker

– 1st minute is awkward but afterwards conversation flow is given

in the afternoon we explored further user scenarios and discovered the flow of the sbb app to gain input where the button could be implemented and how it could work.

Therefore we continued working on our miro-board where we noted our process and research.

We also worked how how you would report and how the steps are.
